The Symposium of Undergraduate Political and Economic Research (SUPER-SL)

The Southern Louisiana Symposium of Undergraduate Political & Economic Research (SUPER-SL) was a poster exhibition of student research from universities across New Orleans and the rest of Southern Louisiana. A collaboration between Tulane University's Murphy Institute - a global leader in political-economic thought - and the Tulane Journal of Policy and Political Economy, SUPER-SL gave students with the opportunity to showcase their original work to, and network with, leading faculty from institutions across the world.

The Symposium was a three-day virtual speaker series on foreign affairs featuring leading academics from the U.S., Beiruit, and Palestine, as well as from the U.S. Departments of Defense and State. By elevating perspectives often overlooked in traditional political-economic conversations, and by tackling ideas at the forefront of public controversy, it aimed to rewrite the paradigm on foreign affairs. Free of charge for all attendees, the Symposium was comprised of eleven separate events over three days. These lectures cover a range of topics, including religion and nationalism in Russia's north caucuses, U.S. foreign policy towards China and Taiwan, and western misconceptions of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
